Puppies

Medi's first liiter of 13 puppies was born in '99. The friendship between Jinx and Medi allowed her to watch the birth of the puppies from within a meters distance.  Daily for a period little over 2 weeks, we moved the puppies from the sunny wintergarden to the livingroom. This stopped working from the moment they started to investigate their invironment, and they were installed in a seperate part of the wintergarden. We have seen with some friends (breeders) what could be done to socialize the puppies well, and give them enough toys in the garden to enjoy  playing with. So the garden was being installed with several attributes, and because of the good weather (it was fall) the door could stay open. 
                      

So they were playing in the garden with mother Medi and Aunt Jinx most of the time, and it was a joy to watch them.  As they were 2 weeks, a lot of visitors started to come, and because of the weather, they could watch and play with them outside. The whole time I slept next to the puppies in the livingroom. We've installed several windows  in the penal that seperated the wintergarden from the livingroom, and every move I made in my bed  was carefully being watched. As I raised my head, or when I noticed that there was already one puppy awake, two loyal eyes were staring at me.  From the time I got up, (this could be 4 or 5 in the morning), those rascals wanted to go outside. I, of cause, was proud and thought : waaw, they already want to do their business outside.  How easily they fooled me,Also Von dem Moment an wo ich aufstand egal (ob es jetzt 4 oder 5 Uhr morgens war) wollten die Zwerge nach draußen. Ich dachte natürlich, schön, die wollen Ihr geschäft schon draußen machen, wurde aber schnell eines besseren belehrt.
            
Oh sure, they, they did their business but the main thing was that they wanted to play. I, unbeleavably tired, and in my bathrobe started to wander trough the garden cleaning up after them, because i didn't wanted them to get al messy (from their own dirt) while playing. In the back of my mind I was very glad that one lady would stay on.
Those 8 weeks practically flew by, and we found for the other 12 rascal's wonderful families, that are very happy and satisfied with them. (mainly because of their great characters). And that of cause makes me real happy, because that way I know I did my job well to give them that start in live that is so important.
There wasn't any time during those 8 weeks that I didn't enjoy it, and I will do it the same next time. When Medi will be that wonderful mother again, and we are able to find again such wonderful families, I can't harly wait till than.
