The Tiger1 Tank at Vimoutiers Normandy and The Tiger2 tank at La Gleize Belgium

Both tiger were dropped by their "former owners" not far from the place the panzers now stand , luckilly there are people out there who tried to restore them.
There are more sites 'round these both tigers , not many with a small filmclips.
first clip gives you an idea of the protection of the tiger2 , a shell still rests in the front protection
second clip gives you an idea of the size of the barrel of the Tiger2.

If you visit la Gleize , visit the museum 1944 , there's a great collection of material , you can even buy an german ww2 panzer helmet and sleeve decoration.

Tiger 1 Vimoutiers

During june 2003  I made a 3day  journey to the normandy beaches on my motorbike.
The last day i stopped at vimoutiers during the way home , only one Tiger1 survived normandy as a war memorial, the rest was put in the scrapyard.
