Crazy Dots VME -I-

The Crazy Dots graphic card from TKR

existed (snif ...) for Atari Mega ST at a 65 MHz frequency (68000 slot) and for the Mega STE and TT030 at a 180 MHz frequency (VME slot) et proposed some asthonishing resolutions for the moment ... and yet today ... In my personal case it was a second hand purchase (the same for my TT030 ... I have always been happy with this kind of purchase.

It existed in two different versions:


- the first model -I- 8 bits in 256 colors displayed from 16 millions.
- the second model -II- 24 bits in 16 millions colors really displayed.

The first model (I) quickly allowed to climb to 15 bits, exactly 32000 colors with the insertion of a little separate module.

As you can see in the upper picture, the jumpers (the little black connecting blocks)
have been removed from the extension slot because we want to place the module there.
I have carefully noticed the jumper's places, like that you'll be able to put them back
if you'd have to remove your 15 bits module.

Your Crazy Dots -I- card is now extended

I wish you find such an extension card for your type -I- master card, so you will see and understand the fascinating capabilities and resolutions offered by this fantastic piece of hardware.
I have yet to propose you some indispensable tools to allow a nice set-up of your monitor resolutions:
- VMG4000 v 1.12, the famous resolution editor from Andreas Winter which generates the needfull NVDIVGA.INF file which will allow to NVDI ET4000 to drive the numerous capabilities of your card.
- MKVGAINF.PRG which allows you to convert your old CRDOTS.INF to a NVDIVGA.INF file.
- 32K LIBRARY which will allow you to find (without any difficulty) some decent resolutions ! I was myself in need of sometime ago :)
