The (New) Electronic Ship Magazine Index

is a quick access, "generalist" subject index of feature articles contained in a number of shipping periodicals. Periodicals which have been selectively indexed include: De Blauwe Wimpel (DBW), Burntisland Shipbuilders' Journal (BSJ), Coastal Shipping (CoastShg), Dundee Evening Telegraph (DET), Fairplay International Shipping Weekly (Fairplay), Glasgow Herald (GH), Lloyd's List (LloydList), Marine News (MN), Motor Ship (MS), Schuttevaer, Weekblad (Schutt), Scotsman, The (Sc), Sea Breezes (SB), Shipbuilding & Shipping Record (Sb&SR), Ships in Focus Record (SIFR) and Ships Monthly (ShipMon).

Inquiries to the Index (mike.macdonald@pi.be) can be made either by ship name, by ship type, by shipping company name, shipbuilding/shipbuilder, ports/areas, technology, or by a keyword such as "Accident", "Convoy", "Trade", e.g., "Timber Trade". For keywords/subject headings, I adopted (or adapted) the National Maritime Museum Subject Index, December 1987.
