Index to magazine articles: some naval references (additions, 02 July 2001)
Paul H Silverstone, the distinguished American naval historian and author ("Civil War Navies 1855-1883" and "The Sailing Navy 1775-1854" in the "US Navy Warships"-series, and histories of the US Navy in the two World Wars), has compiled an Index of periodical articles on naval subjects. These articles cover the World's principal navies, from the 19th century to the late-20th; warship types, naval battles and campaigns, and naval personalities.
Paul has kindly sent me a copy of his Index, and I include an abbreviated version of some of his entries here, together with some related references from more generalist publications. I hope to publish further extracts from time to time.
