Candle

Managing performance in the IMS parallel SYSPLEX data sharing environment requires a new set of tools for the multiple cross system complex.
The Candle Command Center for IMSplex looks at the large picture first, the IMSplexes, and then provides detailed information where appropriate. It provides ZOOM capability into both OMEGAMON II for IMS or OMEGAMON II for DBCTL for more detailed analysis of the specific subsystem when necessary. The most compelling feature in the Version 100 release of this product is the support for viewing the global locking information, lock owners and lock waiters in an IMSPLEX data sharing environment. Additional features include global status and exceptions overview, Coupling Facility structure use for IMS databases, global response time views, and Multi-System Coupling status information. The later two features can yield significant benefit in a IMSplex environment, even if data sharing is not occurring. Also, Candle Command Center for IMSplex provides local locking information for an IMS V4.1 system as long as IRLM V2.1 is being used in this environment.
